Like every year, October is the month dedicated to raising awareness against breast cancer. It is in this spirit that the staff of the Port Authority of Cotonou and the Benin section of the African Women in Maritime (WIMAfrica) conducted this Wednesday, October 26, 2022 a Pink October campaign. Several activities took place during this day! Through an awareness caravan, the female staff of the PAC and other women of WIMA Benin association stormed the various structures of the maritime and port sector which are: the Artisanal Fishing Port of Cotonou, SOBEMAP (Beninese Company of Port Handling), Bolloré Transport & Logistics in Benin, Maersk, Oryx Energies Benin, Grimaldi Lines and the DPB. This was followed by a screening session at the PAC health center. Then, an online and face-to-face conference was held with a health specialist to inform, exchange and convince women on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Finally, a fitness session with the sports coach Chrisma OUAMBA took place on the esplanade of the Amazon, in the presence of the General Ma,nager of the Port Authority of Cotonou, who joined in support of this noble initiative.
