LE BUREAU D’EMBAUCHE UNIQUE : UNE OPPORTUNITÉ POUR L’AMÉLIORATION DES CONDITIONS DE VIE ET DE TRAVAIL DES DOCKERS ET TACHERONS DU PORT DE COTONOU
Conformément au décret N°2022-528 portant organisation de l’embauche et de la gestion de la main-d’oeuvre docker dans les ports et plateformes logistiques portuaires en République du Bénin, le Bureau d’Embauche Unique a été mis en place depuis le 1er février 2023. Pourquoi la création du Bureau d’Embauche Unique (BEU) ? Les mauvaises conditions de vie et de travail ont souvent été décriées par les dockers, tacherons et ouvriers travaillant au Port de Cotonou. Le gouvernement béninois a donc fait suite à leurs plaintes légitimes en initiant cette réforme dont l’objectif est clairement d’améliorer leur situation. NOUVELLE PROROGATION DU DÉLAI D’ACTIVATION DES TITRES D’ACCÈS 2022
La Direction Générale du Port Autonome de Cotonou (PAC) porte à l'attention de tous les usagers portuaires n'ayant pas pu accomplir les formalités d'activation ou de délivrance de titre d'accès pour l'exercice 2023 dans le délai prescrit, qu'il est accordé une nouvelle prorogation aux retardataires jusqu'au 03 mars 2023. THE WOMEN OF THE PORT TAKE ACTION AGAINST BREAST CANCER !
Like every year, October is the month dedicated to raising awareness against breast cancer. It is in this spirit that the staff of the Port Authority of Cotonou and the Benin section of the African Women in Maritime (WIMAfrica) conducted this Wednesday, October 26, 2022 a Pink October campaign. Several activities took place during this day! Through an awareness caravan, the female staff of the PAC and other women of WIMA Benin association stormed the various structures of the maritime and port sector which are: the Artisanal Fishing Port of Cotonou, SOBEMAP (Beninese Company of Port Handling), Bolloré Transport & Logistics in Benin, Maersk, Oryx Energies Benin, Grimaldi Lines and the DPB. This was followed by a screening session at the PAC health center. Then, an online and face-to-face conference was held with a health specialist to inform, exchange and convince women on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Finally, a fitness session with the sports coach Chrisma OUAMBA took place on the esplanade of the Amazon, in the presence of the General Ma,nager of the Port Authority of Cotonou, who joined in support of this noble initiative. CERTIFICATION OF THREE NEW TUGBOAT CAPTAINS
VIDJOGNI Eriwa Andre, Pascaline ADJOFOGUE and ADDRA Isidore are the (3) three new tugboat captains to receive their certificates of competence of towing at the back of 300ml vessels with ASD type tugs. The certificate ceremony took place on Friday, October 21, 2022 in the conference room of the Port Authority of Cotonou in the presence of officials of the Belgian development agency (Enabel in Benin) and PAI (Port of Antwerp International). This ceremony is part of the Support Project for the development of the port sector (PASPort) financed by the Belgian Development Agency (Enabel in Benin) and which aims to strengthen the capacity of the staff of the Port Authority of Cotonou in several areas, including the heart of the port activity, the piloting and towing of ships. CONDITIONS TO APPLY FOR A LICENSE TO PRACTICE
According to its statutes adopted by Decree No. 2016-074 of March 10, 2016 and Decree No. 96-217 of May 31, 1996 on the reinforcement of the Port Authority in the Port of Cotonou, the PAC is responsible for granting authorizations (approvals) for the exercise of activities to structures wishing to carry out activities on the port platform. "THE BENIN OF TOMORROW" ILLUSTRATED ON THE WALLS OF THE PORT OF COTONOU : UNUSUAL VISIT !
Thursday, July 28, 2022, the Operational Committee of the Port Authorithy of Cotonou, led by the General Manager, discovers with wonder and interest, the imposing frescoes created on the walls of the Port of Cotonou, as part of the 8th Graff Effect festival. This guided tour, organized by Sena Street Art Association - ASSART, the promoters of this festival, exhibits the works produced on a revealing theme : "Benin of yesterday and tomorrow". The General Manager of the Port Authority of Cotonou welcomed this initiative which is part of the social and committed dynamic that the Port intends to implement through the many modernization projects in progress. The promoters also did not fail to thank the port authorities for their support. The wall of the Port of Cotonou now becomes the longest graffiti wall in the world with 660 meters in length and will certainly continue to break all records with the ambition to spread over all the walls of the Port of Cotonou, i.e. 1, 3km long.
