LE BUREAU D’EMBAUCHE UNIQUE : UNE OPPORTUNITÉ POUR L’AMÉLIORATION DES CONDITIONS DE VIE ET DE TRAVAIL DES DOCKERS ET TACHERONS DU PORT DE COTONOU

Conformément au décret N°2022-528 portant organisation de l’embauche et de la gestion de la main-d’oeuvre docker dans les ports et plateformes logistiques portuaires en République du Bénin, le Bureau d’Embauche Unique a été mis en place depuis le 1er février 2023. Pourquoi la création du Bureau d’Embauche Unique (BEU) ? Les mauvaises conditions de vie et de travail ont souvent été décriées par les dockers, tacherons et ouvriers travaillant au Port de Cotonou. Le gouvernement béninois a donc fait suite à leurs plaintes légitimes en initiant cette réforme dont l’objectif est clairement d’améliorer leur situation. 4TH EDITION WALK FOR HEALTH WITH CONVI PAC

On Saturday December 03, 2022, was held the 4th edition of Walk for Health organized by he Association for the Conviviality between the Agents of the Port Authority of Cotonou (CONVI PAC). This last sports activity of the year was a new opportunity to meet with colleagues in a good atmosphere, to nourish social links and especially to keep in shape, both physically and mentally. The new itinerary followed, allowed us to (re)discover the future area dedicated to the Zongo Parking and to pay homage to our public institutions (Carrefour 3 Banques, the Presidency of the Republic and its new Gardens, the fairground, the Law Courts, the Remembrance Square, then the new monuments BIO GUERRA and AMAZONE). LAUNCH OF THE NEW ECTN MANAGEMENT PLATFORM

The Port Authority of Cotonou informs all users of the Port of Cotonou that the new management platform of the Electronic Cargo Tracking Note (ECTN) is now available and accessible at https://besc.bj/ As part of the government's new reforms, it has been decided, in Council of Ministers of September 29, 2021, of the transfer of the management of the ECTN to the Port Authorithy of Cotonou. SIGNING OF A CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CENTRALIZED ACCESS AND PARKING LOT IN ZONGO

This Wednesday, November 16 2022, the General Manager of the Port AUthority of Cotonou proceeded to the signature of the contract for the realization of the works of CONSTRUCTION OF A PARKING BUFFER OF THIRTEEN (13) HECTARES AND A CENTRALIZED ACCESS for all the trucks, in the presence of the persons in charge of the port authority and the representatives of the company China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC), selected further to an international invitation to tender and in charge of the execution of the works.  Thanks to an investment of more than 25 billion FCFAThis project will allow, by December 2023, to decongest the Boulevard of Marina and the port, to improve truck access with a parking lot that can accommodate more than 800 trucks per day and to make the port more efficient. THE WOMEN OF THE PORT TAKE ACTION AGAINST BREAST CANCER !

Like every year, October is the month dedicated to raising awareness against breast cancer. It is in this spirit that the staff of the Port Authority of Cotonou and the Benin section of the African Women in Maritime (WIMAfrica) conducted this Wednesday, October 26, 2022 a Pink October campaign. Several activities took place during this day! Through an awareness caravan, the female staff of the PAC and other women of WIMA Benin association stormed the various structures of the maritime and port sector which are: the Artisanal Fishing Port of Cotonou, SOBEMAP (Beninese Company of Port Handling), Bolloré Transport & Logistics in Benin, Maersk, Oryx Energies Benin, Grimaldi Lines and the DPB. This was followed by a screening session at the PAC health center. Then, an online and face-to-face conference was held with a health specialist to inform, exchange and convince women on the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Finally, a fitness session with the sports coach Chrisma OUAMBA took place on the esplanade of the Amazon, in the presence of the General Ma,nager of the Port Authority of Cotonou, who joined in support of this noble initiative. WORKSHOP FOR THE RESTITUTION OF THE PRE-VALIDATION WORK OF THE FUTURE OPTIMIZED AND DEMATERIALIZED PORT BUSINESS PROCESSES

The Port Authority of Cotonou proceeded this Tuesday, October 04, 2022 to the restitution of the work of pre-validation of the future optimized and dematerialized port business processes of the Port Information System (PIS). As part of the new reforms aimed at making the Port of Cotonou more competitive, the government announced at the Council of Ministers of September 22, 2021, the establishment of a Port Information System (SIP) aimed at the dematerialization and centralization of port services and operations. This project is part of a vision for the evolution of the ports of Benin, towards an open and efficient digital ecosystem as part of an integrated global trading system. To allow a good understanding of these processes and harmonize the views of the entire port community and stakeholders of the project, a pre-validation workshop of the future optimized and dematerialized port business processes was held from 20 to 28 September 2022. It is at this end that a workshop of restitution was held in the Baobab room at the Novotel Hotel Cotonou, chaired by the General Manager of the Port Authority of Cotonou, Mr. Codo Isidore, Director of Ports and vice-president of the Port Consultation Committee and Mr. Alain AHOUNOU, Director of Information Systems at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. 3RD EDITION WALK FOR HEALTH WITH CONVI PAC

On Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the early morning, took place the 3rd edition of the Walk for Health, organized by the Association for the Conviviality between the Agents of the Port Authority of Cotonou (CONVI PAC).
It was for the staff of the Port Authority of Cotonou to air the spirit and stretch their legs. All this in a friendly atmosphere and under the rhythm of tom-toms and other traditional musical instruments to motivate and galvanize the troop to complete the round trip from the General Directorate of the Port of Cotonou to Carrefour Erevan.
